GRANDMASTER DANIEL 'DANNY' GUBA

 

Grandmaster Danny Guba was born on 11th august 1952 in Isabela Basilan City, Philippines and began training in Martial Arts in 1964.


Grandmaster Danny was trained by the following instructors:


Magdalino Nolasco (trained 1964 - 1986)
Ceriaco ‘Cacoy’Canete (trained 1964 - 1986)
Filimon ‘Momoy’ Canete (trained 1964 - 1986)
Bonifacio ‘Loloy’ Uy (trained 1964 - 1986)
Vincente ‘Inting’ Carin (trained 1981 - 1988)
Dionisio ‘Diony’ Canete (trained 1986 - present)

Grandmaster Danny has trained constantly since 1964 and was promoted to head instructor in the Doce Pares Headquarters in Cebu, Philippines. From there he became Grandmaster Cacoy’s personal sparring partner in the Corto (Close Quarters).

Grandmaster Danny then toured New Zealand, the United States and Europe before returning to the Philippines to continue teaching in the headquarters.


In 1996 Grandmaster Danny Guba decided to leave the Philippines and moved to the United Kingdom where he now lives in the city of London. He spoke broken English and was an alien in the British culture but the UK based Filipino Martial Art community helped him to integrate himself.

Supreme Grandmaster Dionisio ‘Diony’ Canete appointed GM Guba as the Director of Doce Pares ‘Original Multi-Style’ System in Europe, charging him with promoting this beautiful art.
